Our Summer Camp is open for girls ages 8 to 18 yrs old. The Camp is offered from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4 pm.

To date, SHIELD Women's Self Defense System® has provided self defense training for over 20,000 women and girls in Southern California
Our Summer Camp's main goal is to have the girls have the Most FUN & EMPOWERING time, while becoming proficient in Self Defense skills, increase focus, become physically & mentally stronger, increase coordination, boost confidence, and increase situational awareness.

- SHIELD Self Defense Classes! – This course will teach the girls on how to have confidence and how to be safe around bullies and strangers! They will know how to get away from a hair pull, grab from behind, chokehold, wrist grabs, and more! They will learn how to do: Palm Strikes, Elbow Strikes, Knee Strikes, Kicking, Blocking, Takedowns
- SHIELD Self Defense Classes! – This course will teach the girls on how to have confidence and how to be safe around bullies and strangers! - Boat Ride/Water Therapy - Each week, we take the girls out on a FUN boat ride in the Marina. This is one of the favorite activities that the girls are looking forward to. Being on the water is so much fun and very relaxing.
- Fun Friday Outing - at the end of each week, we take the girls out on a Water Bus across the Marina for lunch and a little shopping at Fisherman's Village.
- Self Awareness & Building Confidence Workshop! - Through guided group discussions and individual exercises, the girls will learn to become more aware of themselves, their values, beliefs, strength & weaknesses. Once they figure out more about themselves, we guide them to stay true to their values and beliefs.
- Yoga & Meditation Classes! Meditation & Yoga classes teaches you on how to remain center in chaos. It trains students to increase focus and train the mind to be quiet for a moment.
- Dance Classes! - This action packed class is a blast! Girls enjoy learning fun new “cool dance moves,” and routines!
- Beach Days - our facility in Playa del Rey is right on the beach. We spend 2 days a week having fun on the beach.

Each day, we introduce one extraordinary woman from the past or the present, and discuss her leadership and achievements with the campers.
While we have a blast in various fun activities, we focus on a specific topic that will be incorporated in the games, class discussions, workshops, and mat chat.

Week 1: ACCEPTANCE - Acceptance of our selves and others.
Week 2: FEAR - Overcoming fear and dealing with anxiety.
Week 3: RESPONSIBILITY - It takes work to be someone that others can rely and trust.
Week 4: PERSEVERANCE - Eliminating "I quit!" attitude. Learning what commitment means.
Week 5: CONFIDENCE - Building self-confidence by getting to know oneself.
Week 6: FOCUS & SELF CONTROL - The martial arts way.
Week 7: ANTI BULLYING - Recognizing bullies behaviors and learning to stand up for oneself.
Week 8: ANGER MANAGEMENT - Being more peaceful with oneself.
Week 9: KINDNESS & RESPECT - Respect for oneself and others. And being kind to oneself and others.
Week 10: VISION & PURPOSE - Finding something we LOVE to do and matching it to what the world needs.
