The Camp's main goal is to have the young ladies have the Most FUN & EMPOWERING time, while becoming proficient in women's self defense training, increase focus, become physically stronger, healthier diet, increase coordination, boost confidence, increase situational awareness and become more comfortable in social setting and/or dating scenes!

Indoor Training Ground

  • SHIELD Women's Self Defense Classes!  – This course will teach you how to have confidence and how to be safe around bullies and strangers! You will learn how to  do: Palm Strikes, Elbow Strikes, Knee Strikes, Kicking, Blocking, Takedowns, and Grappling! It’s awesome! The drills we do are fun exercises that are designed to increase your ability to move and change direction and position of the  body quickly and effectively while under control. It increases quick  reflexes, coordination, balance, speed, and  correct response to the  changing situation.
  • Nutrition Workshops - Led by a Certified Nutritionist and Best Selling Cookbook Author, this workshop will demystify the complex subject of what "eating well" means. It will include informative talks, hands-on instruction, and, of course, tasting deliciously healthful food!
  • Dance Classes!  -  This  action packed class is a blast! Girls enjoy learning  fun new dances, “cool dance moves,” and routines! In our camp, learning  to dance is about learning to control one's body's movements and moving  with one's core. With upbeat music playing, they will be improving  coordination and core strength while having a blast!
  • Yoga & Meditation Classes! Meditation & Yoga classes teaches you on how to remain center in chaos. It trains students to increase focus and train the mind to be quiet for a moment. Teenage girls LOVE this class!
  • And So Much More Fun Activities! 

Structured Program to increase Motor Skills

  • Balance!  -  Balance is defines as the correct body placement within a space or determined movement. 
  • Coordination!   -  Coordination is the physical ability that allows a person to  perform orderly movements that are aimed toward executing a specific  technical action. 
  • Speed!  -  Speed is the basic physical ability to perform gestures in the shortest amount possible. 
  • Strength!  -  Strength is defined as the subject’s physical ability to lift, support or defeat a weight of mass by muscle action. 
  • Agility!  -  Agility is the ability to react rapidly with adequate movement to changing situations. 
  • Spatial Perception!  -   We define Spatial Perception as the knowledge of the environment and  its surroundings. It is also known as situational awareness. It involves the subject’s awareness of their situation and possible situations in their surrounding space. 
  • Body Perception!  -   Body perception is a cognitive structure that provides the human body  recognition in any situation and the information needed to establish  relations with the environment, including self awareness, and its  position in space.  

Outdoor Water Sports (Summer & Spring Camps)

  • Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Lessons! – Learning how to improve balance and increase core strength while enjoying the ocean breeze.       
  • Kayaking Lessons! – Kayaking also increases core strength, coordination and upper body strength. It's so much fun to kayak safely around the Marina.
  • Sailing Lessons! – Sailing is very relaxing and increases coordination, core strength, and spatial awareness.
  • And So Much More Outdoor and Beach Activities! 

All instructors and coaches for the water sports activities are UCLA employees who hold current Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications.

What ages do you accept in summer camp and what are the Camp Dates?

We accept girls ages 5 to 19 years old. Classes will be split by age group. All lessons will be age appropriate. 

Days: Monday to Friday

Camp Hours: 9am to 5pm 

Extended Hours: 8am to 6pm 

Winter Camp Dates: 

December 24 - January 4
