1. WEEKLY Intensive - Beginner (2 hr classes, once/wk - 5 weeks or 3 months)

WEEKLY Intensive Training - Beginner's Course
2-hr classes | once/week
Class Size: 12 students max.
Tuition: 5 Week Training ($325) or 3 Months ($675) Training

The WEEKLY Intensive Beginner's Course can be taken as a 5-Week or 3-Months Program. If you take the 3 Month option, you will join the Advanced Course (4-6pm) after the 5 weeks course is over. 

The 2-hr Intensive Classes are offered in small settings, maximum 10 students. This course uses realistic training scenarios to prepare students with effective self defense skills. You will learn how to get out from common assault for women, i.e. grab from behind, frontal and side attack, hair pull, choke hold, wrist grab, and various ground fighting skills. You can miss and make up one class in the 5 week course. In the 3 months option, you can miss and make up four classes. Start date is the same for 5-Week or 3-Month program. 

Students completing this course will experience what it is like to be attacked from all sides, being jolted off the ground, and fight back with full force against a padded assailant. Students will learn how to use the core and lower body strength to generate power in striking back. This Course also covers safety tips for women, how to use one's voice as a weapon, discussions on actual case studies on sexual assault incidents, and studies on rape survivors in Southern California. 


WEEKLY Intensive Training - Advanced Course
(includes 1 private lesson - $150 value)

Class size: 12 students max
Tuition: $675 (3 months) includes one private lesson ($150 value)



The WEEKLY Intensive Advanced Course is meant for SHIELD returning students. It is an ongoing course that continues on from the Beginner's Course. The course repeats the skills you learn in the Beginner's Course in a more aggressive way, and add on more skills that can only be practiced over a longer period of time. Assault with weapons (gun, knife and stick) is also covered in this class. A minimum of 3 months (12 weeks) is required for this course.

The Advanced Course intention is to enable students to ground the skills they learned and embed them into muscle memory. It is not about remembering the moves, it is more about getting used to moving a certain way against a forced attack. This course is recommended after students complete the 5 week course or the One Day Crash Course.


ONE DAY Crash Course (10am to 5pm)
Class size: 8 students max

This ONE DAY Crash Course is loaded with everything you need to know that is covered in the 5-week Intensive Course in one single day. This course is designed for small class size (5-8 students) to ensure each participant gets the full attention of the instructor. We go through the various assault scenarios throughout the day. By the end of the day, you will gain the knowledge and practice of fighting back with full force against a padded assailant. We go through ways to get out from common assault for women, i.e. grab from behind, hair pull, choke hold, wrist grab, and various pinned down on the ground positions. You will practice executing palm strikes, knee strikes, elbow strikes and kicks. There is a one hour break for lunch. This training is suitable for those who do not have the time to commit more than one day to train. 



TEEN Comprehensive After School Program
Includes one Private Lesson ($150 value)
1 hr classes, 2 days/week

Class Size: 10 students maximum
Tuition: $625 (3 months/12 weeks)

The TEEN Comprehensive After School Program is an ongoing after school self defense training that is suitable for teenage girls ages 14-20 years old. It is 'Comprehensive' because it includes mental, verbal, and physical self defense training. The Course focuses on common issues teenagers face mostly in high school and college. Class discussion includes dating violence, recognizing signs of abusive partner, situational awareness, boundary setting, and studies on sexual assault in Southern California. 

The issue is real and scary. But we make the classes upbeat, challenging and FUN, in a safe and supportive environment where they train among their peers. Classes meet two days per week for 1 hour each class. Students can select a Mon/Wed classes or Tue/Thu classes. We offer 4-5pm or 5-6pm classes. Please note on your registration, which class time you are registering. 

This course is designed to build the skills, stamina and strength over time. The warm up drills consists of stretching, grounding, and core strengthening exercises. We go through ways to get out from common assault for women, i.e. grab from behind, hair pull, choke hold, wrist grab, and various pinned down on the ground positions. Students will practice on executing palm strikes, elbow strikes, knee strikes and kicks. They will also practice using their voice as a weapon. There will be practical class assignments students are asked to perform between classes that will help to increase awareness, setting boundaries, and becoming more balance and grounded.

Reality based scenario training is the basis of our teaching. We teach students how to fight in chaos. Students will experience what it feels like to be jolted off the ground and fight back with full force against a padded assailant. The training is conducted in a safe environment where the skills are built from one class to the next.

A minimum of 3 months (12 weeks) is required for this program. This includes one Private Lesson ($150 value). This program has a limited class size of 10 students. Please register early to secure your spot in the class. 


TEEN Intensive Course
4 Days In A Row - 10:00am to 12:30pm

The TEEN Intensive Course is a 4-Day self defense training that is suitable for teenage girls ages 14-22 years old. Classes meet everyday for 2.5 hours each class, for four days in a row. Students go through the skills in four days with no break. This is a good program for those who do not have the time to train for a longer period. This program will give the students plenty of practice with daily training. This is a great Crash Course to learn self defense in a short period of time. 

The Course focuses on common issues teenagers face in college or high school. Class discussion includes dating violence, recognizing signs of abusive partner, situational awareness, boundary setting, and studies on sexual assault in Southern California.
